Corona virus update

If you have received an email from Timing, you may consider it unsent.

Dear flex worker,

The current situation in the Netherlands has created a great deal of uncertainty for everyone. We feel it is our responsibility to do everything to help you in these challenging times. But we also want to be honest because, unfortunately, we will not be able to resolve all issues. At this moment in time, we feel it is mainly important to be transparent so you know exactly where you stand.

1. What happens if your contract ends, but work is available at the company where you are currently working via In Person?

The consequences will be determined by the contract that you have agreed with In Person. Allow us to explain:

You have an expiring contract with working hours guarantee

The good news is that, in many cases, extended contracts will contain the same number of hours as your current contract, but will be limited to maximum 80 hours every 4 weeks. If less work is unexpectedly available at the company where you work, your salary will still be paid for the duration of your contract. In this case, In Person will do everything to find other work for you as quickly and effectively as possible.

You have an ongoing contract with working hours guarantee

Your salary will simply be paid for the duration of your contract, based on the actual number of hours you have worked. Should this number decrease because work is no longer available at the company, we will pay the shortfall up to the working hours guarantee. In Person will do everything to find other work for you as quickly and effectively as possible.

2. Where do you stand now that you do not have work?

The consequences will be determined by the contract that you have agreed with In Person. Allow us to explain:

You have an ongoing contract with working hours guarantee

  • Your salary will be paid for the duration of your contract. In Person will do everything to find other work for you as quickly and effectively as possible.
  • Naturally, if your contract ends and no work is available, you will be entitled to employment benefits*. This means you will be paid 75% of your daily wage for the first 2 months. The UWV is familiar with your salary details. They will thus be able to quickly calculate your daily wage. You will be paid 75% of your gross salary, including holiday pay and potential bonuses.

Working in vital sectors

Some companies are actually busier than usual because of the corona crisis. Demand for employees is high among companies that operate in vital sectors. To make sure they can continue to serve their vital function, we immediately require employees for supermarkets and companies that are active in the cleaning, medicines, foodstuffs and logistics sectors. Perhaps this is an opportunity for you.

Our website contains vacancies that are available at this moment in time. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you see something that suits you. We will do everything to help you as quickly and effectively as possible.

Thank you for your efforts

Despite these difficult times, we would like to thank you for your efforts. We are proud that everyone is helping to keep the Netherlands up and running. Are you not working or would you like more work? Then please keep an eye on our website or phone your fixed contact person at In Person. Do you not know who this is? Then please contact one of our offices in your neighbourhood. It goes without saying that we will contact you immediately if we encounter a potential job for you.

We are also closely monitoring the latest developments concerning the coronavirus. We will notify you via e-mail if we encounter something that could be of importance to you.

Best regards,

Margriet Spijker
